Valima Dress Code: A Shared Story of Love

This isn’t your typical wedding dress code. Think of it more like a prompt.

We want you to show up wearing something that has a story, inspired by something you love, something that shaped you, or something that makes you feel seen. This can be as complex as an entire outfit, or as simple as a cherished accessory. This day is about love, creativity, and shared storytelling in the way only outfits can tell it.

What does this look like?

Maybe it’s an outfit inspired by your favorite TV show or film: perhaps the fiery red of Wanda’s finale look in WandaVision, or the deep blue lehenga that Priyanka Chopra wore in Gallan Goodiyan. Perhaps it’s an outfit inspired by a song or artist you love to dance to — Missy Elliott’s metallic tracksuits, Britney Spears in full pop-star mode, or Shah Rukh Khan’s dramatic elegance. Or maybe it’s just a subtle nod — a Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge dupatta, a Barbie-pink outfit, or a puffy white shirt a la Bridgerton or Seinfeld. The possibilities are endless!

Help! I’m stumped and can’t decide.

If you can’t decide or are having trouble with the prompt, you can instead opt to wear a piece of clothing or an accessory that has some kind of special meaning for you specifically. For example, maybe it’s something your mom or dad used to wear, or maybe it’s a part of what you wore to your own special event! No matter how big or small, everything we wear has a story, and we kindly ask that you bring that story with you and make it a part of our special night ❤️

What this isn’t:

  • This is not a judgment zone. We’re all here for the same reason. Be weird. Be elegant. Be hilarious. Be sentimental.
